Soon the PS6? PS5 Pro developers invited to create a graphics mode exclusive to a new console

4 years after the release of the PlayStation 5, Sony is reportedly preparing a surprise for 2024. In recent weeks, the arrival of the PS5 Pro on the market seems more and more likely. So much so that developers were asked to create a graphics mode exclusive to this new console.

Sony soon ready to launch the PS5 Pro on the market?

The launch of the PS5 Pro should indeed arrive in 2024, contrary to the doubts expressed at the start of the year by specialists. A little less than 4 years after the release of its big sister, the new Sony console arrives as an improved version of the ninth generation console. It was the very informed journalist Tom Warren of The Verge who confirmed the existence of this machine. Additionally, the launch of the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” program this summer gives us some indication of its release date. It should arrive at the end of the year, in time for the holidays. To be even more precise, we can compare the release dates of the 3 previous Sony consoles, all released in November. (2013, 2016, 2020).

For the price of the console, the most optimistic are hoping for a price not exceeding €549.99. However, given the new features and options it presents, a price between €600 and €650 would not be surprising. Regarding the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” program, it will be used to distinguish games benefiting from optimal support for the PlayStation 5 Pro 5

PlayStation 5 Pro: New features and improvements

The PlayStation 5 Pro should include some very interesting new improvements. To start, it will be equipped with a GPU 45% faster than that of the classic PS5. Regarding its CPU, a performance mode will be added which will increase the frequency to 3.85 GHz instead of 3.5 GHz. For bandwidth memory speed, it will increase to 576 GB/s from 448 GB/s currently , which represents an improvement of 28%. Finally, it is also planned that 1.2 GB of system memory will be added exclusively for games. Obviously, Sony will also go all out on ray tracing : a technology that allows ultra-realistic reflections to be simulated.
